6th ENSF Fiesta cum General Session from July 26 to 29
Dimapur, July 17 (MExN): In accordance to the Noklak resolution dated March 28, 2016, the 6th ENSF fiesta cum General Session under the theme “Conscia Mens Recti” (A Mind Conscious of Integrity) will be held at Mon town from July 26 to 29.
In this regard, the federation in a press release has made a series of appeals to stakeholders, government and other agencies seeking support and cooperation.
Highlighting that the Tuensang-Mon Roads via Tobu will be the main routes where about 60% of the delegates will be travelling on, the federation appealed the Border Road Organisation (BRO) to ensure safe passage on the said road by installing additional machineries so as to overcome all obstacles in time.
Also declaring the Tuensang-Longleng-Aboi route as the optional road for student delegates, the Federation requested the Department of Road & Bridges to ensure that the said road be ready for buses to ply on or before July 23. The said route will be another major route where 40% of the student delegates will be travelling to attend the 6th ENSF Fiesta, the federation informed.
In the event that student delegates are compelled to travel the roads constructed by the Assam Government, it would be deemed a “big mockery” to the Nagaland Government, the federation maintained. “In event of such un-eventualities, the Federation shall lay the concern hurdles in the ENSF General Session for any course of action,” it added.
To stakeholders in Mon District, the Federation appealed the District Administration and the law enforcing authority to extend support and cooperation to the Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) and the Organising Committee in all possible means.
It requested the Superintendent of Police to initiate immediate arrangement for additional security forces and to be stationed on duty on all routes entering to Mon as well as Mon Town so as to avoid any disturbances that may occur.
The Federation also requested the Chief Medical Officer Mon to be equipped with first aid and other medical emergencies during the entire period of the programme. It also appealed the Power Department to ensure regular electricity supply during the said 4-day programme.
In accordance to the theme “A Mind Conscious of Integrity” and considering the efforts for peaceful co-existence in the region, the Federation appealed to all factions to abstain/refrain from any provocative act that may disturb the peaceful environment during the 4-day Fiesta.
The 4-day Programme will consist of Cultural expo programme, Sports (Football, Volley & Badminton), literary programmes, Felicitation Programme, Musical nite, Eastern collegiate meet, Beauty pageant, ENSF General Conference and induction of the ENCSU executives.
The most significant of the event will be that the new ENSF team (2016-19) batch shall be inducted during the ENSF General Conference. The opening ceremony of the 6th ENSF Fiesta will be graced by Chief Minister of Nagaland T.R. Zeliang on July 26, the release informed.
The Organising committee has invited 200 each delegates from all the 6 federating units under the banner of the Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF). The Federation also invites the members from all the sub-ordinate bodies and hence directs the Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) to prepare/arrange accommodation for 1000 delegates.
