
Kohima, April 5 (MExN): Financial Literacy Programme was held on March 17 at Mezoma Village for the women organised by the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board SCA of NMDFC, SRCW under Financial Literacy Camp Programme supported under FIF NABARD.
For the Financial Literacy Camp, the resource person from the Bank of Baroda Anita Devi- Marketing Officer shared the significance of Banking and stress on the importance of saving which will help them become financially secure.
She highlighted some of the few social security schemes like Atal pension Yojana, PM Jeevan jyoti Bima Yojana(PMJJBY), PM Jan Dhan Yojana(PMJDY), Educational loan etc. which will secures the financial future of the family. The resource person further stress on Kisan Credit Card (KCC) which is a card that allows the farmers to obtain timely and adequate credit without any hassles from the bank and some of the benefits that comes along with it like hassle free disbursement procedure, assist in the purchase of fertilizers, seeds, etc.
Salie A. Kruse- Project Manager, NSSWB introduced the Joint Liability Group (JLG) which is a concept under National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to provide institutional credit to small farmers. He briefed about the JLG the features and the necessary requirement to form a Group and avail loan from the bank.
She also spoke on the importance of digital payment and cites some of the benefits like they will always be aware of what is happening in their bank account through the new cashless policy. With the recent demonitization which created significant disruption throughout the economy, Asalie ask the participant to be alert to face such changes in the coming years as well as sensitized enough on cashless policy.

She also brief on the Childine-1098 which is a national 24 hour free phone emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection.
