Kohima, February 11 (MExN): One and half kilos of contraband suspected to be brown heroin worth approximately 1.50 crore in the national market was recovered by Kohima Police from a vehicle on February 11. The contraband was found neatly wrapped and packed in a brown envelope and concealed inside an airbag when it was detected by Kohima Police manning Phesama check gate on their routine frisking duties of vehicles, informed a press note from Sub-Divisional Police Officer (South) & PRO Kohima Atu Zumvü NPS. The arrested person, identified as one Kailash Dangi (36 yrs) of Khuri, PO/PS- Teh-Biora, Dist- Rajgarh (M.P), was travelling from Imphal to Dimapur in a commercial vehicle, it said. As per the statement of the accused, the consignment was supposed to be delivered to a client at Kanpur bus stand, it added. A criminal case in Kohima South P.S under NDPS Act was registered against the arrested person for conducting further investigation, the police said.
