Wokha, August 23 (MExN): State Monitoring team from Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (HFW) led by Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru, Mission Director National Health Mission (NHM) and Dr. W.N Ezung State Programme Officer (NCD) along with State NVBDCP staffs, Keneingutuo M&E consultant, Ngangnenmongba PSCM consultant, Imsubenla Public Health consultant, Bendangnaro IEC/BCC consultant, Lothungbeni Finance consultant visited CMO Office, Wokha on August 23.
The meeting was chaired by the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Robin Lotha and he appraised the state team on the various programme activities that is being carried out in the District.
Dr. W.N Ezung State Programme Officer (NCD) spoke on APAR new rules and regulations pertaining to transfer and posting of Medical Officers, which will be strictly adhere hereon. He also suggested that District Nodal Officer to be nominated for checking and validation of monthly reports before sending it to the Directorate.
He emphasized on Non-communicable Diseases (NCD) programme implemented by GOI for creating health awareness and prevention relating to Blindness, Tobacco, Cancer, High blood pressure, Cardiovascular diseases and stroke health care for the elderly persons. He further on added that few NCD clinics has been established in the already existing health centre in the State and the ANMs, ASHAs will be sensitized on NCD to provide health care services at the health centres and village level.
Dr. Kevichusa, MD reflected on the Nagaland Health Status report at the National level and said that we as health workers need to take our job responsibility seriously and deliver better health status report, which includes proper health service delivery, report and documentation. Further on he said that staffs who are not performing and irregular in their posting place will be taken strictly viewed and taken action.
Encouraging all vertical Programme Officers to work together and take up monitoring and supervision activities both at the District and block level. He also urged to conduct monthly regular review meetings to improve the health care service status of the District. He also spoke on the ongoing Intensified Mission Indradhanush and the upcoming Measles Rubella campaign which is set to be launched on October 3 in the State of Nagaland and requested all Programme Officers and staffs to work together, get involved in achieving the immunization target of the District.
The meeting was attended by NHM NVBDCP staffs and which was followed by interactions with staffs on their problems/issues. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Zuben Kikon Dy.CMO Wokha.
