High prevalence of Delta Variant: IDSP

Dimapur, September 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) on Saturday expressed concern that 99% of whole genome sequencing samples from the state were found to be of the “Delta Variant of Concern.”

Stating this in its weekly COVID roundup issued on September 4, the IDSP informed that out of the 286 samples that were sent for whole genome sequencing, 283 or 99 % of the samples were of the Delta Variant (B.1.617.2). Other variants detected during the whole genome sequencing included 1 Alpha Variant (B.1.1.7) and 2 Kappa Variant (B.1.617.1), it added.
