High voter turnout in Wokha

Wokha District peacefully concluded the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) election with a notable voter turnout of 89.77% conducted today.

The polling stations of every ward were closely monitored under the supervision of Election Officer Hiazu Meru along Wokha District Information and Public Relations (DIPR) team.

Commencing at 7:30 AM and concluding at 4:00 PM, the election saw a steady flow of voters across various wards. Minor disturbances were reported in some areas but were promptly addressed by law enforcement, maintaining overall tranquility. 

The turnout statistics at different intervals are as follows: 2526 voters from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM, 5953 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 8988 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and 10756 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, with a total closure polls count of 10831 voters.

Detailed voter figures per wards highlight significant participation across the district: Ward 2 (Titapen) recorded 594 votes, Ward 3 (Jonsulan) 797 votes, Ward 5 (Likya) 1270 votes, Ward 6 (Etsuchukha) 678 votes, Ward 7 (Tsumang) 881 votes, Ward 8 (Sathero - Tsumang B) 603 votes, Ward 9 (Project) 879 votes, Ward 10 (Bluehill) 1673 votes, Ward 11 (Hayichan) 1146 votes, Ward 12 (PWD Zuvotong) 1097 votes, and Ward 15 (Saron) 1213 votes.
