Kohima, August 11 (DIPR): The State capital will be celebrating Indian Independence day on August 15 at Nagaland Secretariat Plaza, Kohima. The highlights of day’s programme are as follows:- hoisting of National Flag in all Government Offices, Institutions/ Public & Private Buildings at 6:a.m.
At Secretariat Plaza Nagaland DGP will review the Parade at 8:55, Chief Guest address, presentation of Awards and March Past consisting of 24 Contingents including Para Military, Police, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Ex-Servicemen and Schools will be carried out. Mass Drill Display by School Students and Drill Dance by Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club (NAGC) will be the entertainment items. Flexi Banner Exhibition, distribution of Tractors & Power Tillers under Planning, Agri & Allied Departments under the theme “Agriculture & allied Sectors” will also be held. To mark the occasion, various organisations will also be visiting different places at 12:00 noon.
In the evening programme an exhibition Football Match will be played between AHODs & HODs, prize distribution for the best contingent of the Independence Day parade, Band display by Brass Band of Nagaland Police and Pipe Band of 16th Assam Rifles will be carried out followed by Beating of Retreat.
