Hill View Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung celebrated its 50th anniversary in the school auditorium, with Padmashree T Senka Ao as the guest of honour on October 30.
In his speech, Ao, a former headmaster of the school, highlighted the history of education in the region, noting the establishment of the first school in the Naga area in 1879 and the opening of Mokokchung's first school in 1902. He praised teachers who also serve as school proprietors, attributing better school performance to their commitment and dedication. Emphasising the importance of strong relationships among students, teachers, and parents, he encouraged students to persevere through setbacks, remain humble in success, and look forward to future opportunities.
Other highlights of the programme included performances by the Jubilee Choir and a cantata by Chubainla, proprietor of the School of Music. The event also featured an intercession by Amenla Amlari, Associate Pastor of the Women’s Ministry at Alempang Baptist Arogo.
Founded in 1974 as a kindergarten, Hill View Higher Secondary School has expanded to include secondary and higher secondary sections, growing under the dedication of founder Bendangangshi Jamir and current proprietor and Principal Dr Anungla Aier.
