Hindi Day was observed here today under the aegis of Hindi section of the Directorate of School Education, Nagaland.


Gracing the occasion as guest speaker, School Education Principal Director Shanavas C maintained that learning any language is always beneficial. In this, he encouraged the people to accept and zeal to learn other languages. “To build friendship, it is good to know different languages, he said.


We have to explore and open our minds to learn and accept leaving aside the narrow mindset, the Principal Director said.


School Education Director, Wonthungo Tsopoe wishes the Hindi section of the directorate of school education to give Hindi coaching to the staff once in a month.


Stating that Hindi which is one language spoken across the world, he urged upon the people of the state not to take Hindi as an alien language but to learn it. We have to sensitize the people on learning Hindi, he added. Maintaining that the impact of Hindi is huge, he said that even elderly people too have to learn Hindi and other cultures as there is no age bar for learning.


Meanwhile, the Director stressed on the need to upgrade the lone Hindi Institute in the state.


Limawabang Aier, Additional State Mission Director Samagra Shiksha stressed on the need to promote Hindi at the primary level. Learning another language is really a pleasure, he said adding that knowing multiple languages brings people closer and build friendship deeper.


Zakienei Khoubve, deputy director (Hindi) said in 1949 Hindi was adopted as the official language of the Union of India.


Khoubve called upon the people to know the importance to Hindi and promote Hindi education in the state.
