‘Hindi is a scientific and link language’

Kohima, September 27 (MExN): The closing ceremony of the Hindi Fortnight (Pakhwada) 2019 under the aegis of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Kohima was held at the State Academy Hall, Kohima on September 18 under the chairmanship of E. Mhonbemo Patton. 


E Mhonbemo Patton, Chairman, TOLIC, Kohima delivered the welcome speech. The programme started with the National Anthem by the students of the Kenriya Vidhyalaya, Kohima. The inaugural lamp was lighted by the Uma Nath Singh, Lokayukta, Kohima who was the chief guest accompanied by the Chairman, TOLIC, Kohima, Sr. DAG (Audit). 


Singh spoke on the importance of learning Hindi language and highlighted the significance of Rajbhasha Hindi. He stated that any language is not the property of any particular community or religion. “Hindi is a scientific language and is a link language.”


Vivek Kr. Bhaskar, Sr. DAG (Audit) Nagaland read out the message by the Union Home Minister. The chief guest and other dignitaries gave away prizes to the staff members of different Central Government offices located at Kohima, who participated in various competitions organized from September 3 to 16 at various TOLIC member offices. The member Office which performed the best Quarterly Progress Report on Rajbhasha Hindi during 2018-19 was awarded letter of appreciation. 


The three best selected contributors to the 16th edition of Hindi magazine "Naganchal" were rewarded certificates of appreciation with cash rewards. The 17th edition of annual Hindi magazine "Naganchal" was also released by the chief guest.
