Kohima, December 8 (MExN): The All Nagaland Hindi Teachers Union (ANHTU) on Tuesday appealed the State Education Department and Finance Department to release pending salaries of Hindi Teachers appointed in the year 2012-2013, under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
According to a press release from the Union President Ruchunlo Tep on Tuesday, the teachers have been unpaid since September 2020.
The Union stated that the matter of ‘irregularity’ in payment of salaries for Hindi teachers has been a long pending issue and “the teachers are facing untold hardships even to fulfill our basic needs.”
It appealed the Education and Finance Departments to take cognizance of the grievances of Hindi teachers and release the pending salaries before Christmas, especially since the COCID-19 pandemic has “doubled the problems of the teachers.” It further urged the departments to ensure that teachers are paid their salaries regularly like other government employees of the state.
