Hindu Seva Samiti issues Durga Puja directive

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): Hindu Seva Samiti, while extending warm Durga Puja greetings to all, has appealed to all the Puja Committees to abide by the guidelines issued by the office of Commissioner of Police vide Permit No. CP/DMR/ESSTT-41/2016-17/2113, dated September 28 and Nagaland Pollution Control Board.  

A directive from Hindu Seva Samiti President stated that this year all Puja Pandals should maintain maximum cleanliness in and around the Pandals in accordance with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The directive also instructed to maintain public peace and tranquillity during the celebration of Puja. Puja Pandals were directed to use sound systems in a controlled manner to avoid any disturbances to anyone.  

Further, officer bearers of all Puja Committees were instructed to be present in their respective Puja Pandals in maximum and maintain law and order to avoid any untoward incident during the holy festival.  

Pointing out that administration also issue caution regarding anti social activities and threat perception, the directive asked all the office bearers of respective Puja Pandals, volunteers and devotees to keep close vigil on any unclaimed articles, vehicles, etc., and take the help of Police as and when required immediately. For convenience of administration, it asked the Puja Committees to provide one of their members’ contact numbers to the nearest police station for co-ordination.  

Meanwhile, the Hindu Seva Samiti President requested all the Puja Pandals’ vehicles to line up with the idols at City Tower Junction on October 11, from where, the convoy will proceed towards immersion Ghat at 8:30 am.  

To avoid traffic hassles, all Puja Committees were directed to control their volunteers; any dance which can disturb or block the traffic will not be allowed. In case any Committee violates the directive, police will take stringent action for which Hindu Seva Samiti will not be held responsible, the directive read.
