Kohima, December 1 (MExN): The Hornbill International Photo Fest (HIPFEST) 2024 was inaugurated on Saturday by Advisor for Soil & Water Conservation and Information & Public Relations, Imkong L. Imchen, at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, as part of the 25th anniversary of the Hornbill Festival.
Addressing the gathering, Imchen commended the Department of Information & Public Relations (IPR) and Portrait Enterprise for organizing HIPFEST. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in encouraging the youth of Nagaland to explore photography while showcasing the state’s rich natural heritage to a global audience.
Themed Nature’s Canvas – Celebrating the Beauty of Nature, HIPFEST 2024 is a collaborative venture by Portrait Enterprise and the IPR Department. Highlighting the festival’s scale, Ababe Ezung from Portrait Enterprise revealed that 66 entries were submitted this year, including 45 from local photographers. The competition offers cash prizes of Rs 40,000 for the winner, Rs 25,000 for the runner-up, and Rs 15,000 for the third-place winner.
