Historical facts in interest of researchers and young Nagas

The historical facts are released as follow in the interest of researchers like Mazie Nakhro, PhD and other young Nagas. Because many of young people don’t know why false propaganda has been done.

After the Shillong Accord, Muivah formed a so-called socialistic form of government in August 1976 under the banner of NNC, and he went to China again in October 1976 along with three hundred Naga Army personnel under the Command of Brig Vedai Moire. And in 1977 in China, he openly advocated to form a socialist government to overthrow Phizo’s leadership and even warned the Naga soldiers that “Kun kun Phizo piche jabo guli ekta ekta khabo (whoever sided with Phizo will have one bullet each)”

Also, after he returned back from China in 1978, Muivah became very vocal and outspoken in condemning and criticizing the leadership of AZ Phizo. He vehemently criticized Phizo’s leadership, saying; “unless we remove Phizo from the leadership we have no way to achieve our goal. The non-violence policy of NNC is meaningless and our goal can be achieved only through arms struggle. Unfortunately Phizo lives in London, which made Communist leaders unhappy. We cannot bring arms from London, only a Communist Country can provide our needs adequately. The need therefore is to install a socialist form of government and our Chairman must stay in Beijing instead of London”.

“Phizo is comfortably living in London, not knowing the Home situation and problems facing by his people. A leader who doesn’t have any contact with his people can neither give correct direction nor correct advice. What we need most at this juncture is correct leadership and correct policy. It is irrational and unwise to have sent our leader to a democratic country in one hand and seeking military support from a Communist country on the other. It makes our neighbouring Communist Country angry and now they are not willing to give us arms and ammunitions. We must adopt the socialist form of government and our Chairman should stay in a Communist country, then only we should get full support from them. We also need to have a United Front consisting of all the insurgent groups in Northeast India. But this strategy is not supported by Phizo, saying it is wrong. We cannot defeat our enemy by a single force of Naga Army alone, but by joining hands with all other insurgent groups we can defeat them”.

But with above mentioned political stratagem, he failed to convince Eno Khaplang and other Eastern Naga national leaders as well as the Naga soldiers but rather faced house arrest miserably. He thus realized and changed his political propaganda and spoke to Khaplang, saying; the NNC has signed the Shillong Accord and surrendered. What do you do with Shillong Accord? With this false allegation against the NNC, he could convince Khaplang immediately as Muivah knew that without the support of Khaplang, he can do nothing in Eastern Nagaland. Khaplang and other Eastern Nagas had no experienced of the political game played by Muivah telling lies and false allegations against his opponents. Thus they swallowed the words whatever Muivah fraudulently spoke as truth. With this false allegation, he branded all the NNC leaders including A.Z. Phizo as traitors and then started killing the NNC supporters since November, 1979 before the so-called NSCN was formed.

The predictions became true.

In April 1967, a meeting was held in Tham Kho village, Konyak Region when the Goodwill Mission to China began to leave Nagaland for the first time, Rev Longri Ao told Muivah, “now you are going to China to procure arms and ammunition but don’t bring Communism”. In reply Th Muivah said; “I will put all Nagas in my pocket like I put my pen into my pocket (showing them putting a pen into his pocket). And whoever opposes my policy, I will kill them like a tiger killing its prey”. According to his words, Muivah had done and which is now witnessed by the living Nagas.

In December 1975, when the 9th trips of Naga Army Goodwill Mission returned from China led by Isak Swu, the then Chaplee Kilonser (Finance Minister) of FGN and NNC General Secretary Th. Muivah; Brigadier Ngamlao Konyak said; “we should establish a base in Eastern Nagaland but should not allow Muivah to stay there, because his presence there shall surely cause division among us”. To this, Brig. Ngamlao was killed on 3rd December 1975 by Muivah at 2nd Brigade area in Kachinland. Thus Brig. Ngamlao’s prediction became true.

In November 1977, the 10th trips of Naga Army Goodwill Mission was in China and when the Goodwill Mission was leaving China, a Chinese training instructor who speaks Burmese told Naga Soldiers those who speak Burmese; “I feel pity on you for you are not going to use these arms and ammunition to fight against your enemy but to kill your own Naga brothers because your leader Muivah has no political vision”. His word also became true

On January 28, 1978, when the 10th trips of Naga Army Goodwill Mission reached Heimi Region, Nagaland, Lt Col Yamtsethong hurriedly narrated that “Unless Muivah changes his present policy of socialism, fierce fighting might break out among us. It is therefore right time for the people of Eastern Nagaland “Heimi, Konyak, and Khiamniungan” to stand united to prevent such catastrophe”. His words were also fulfilled because Khaplang sided with Muivah and fierce fighting took place among the Nagas in Eastern Nagaland. As Lt Col Yamtsethong strongly opposed Muivah’s policy, at first he was killed by Muivah on 15th July 1979 at Tsonkhao village, Khiamniungan Region in Eastern Nagaland.

In April 1978, Late Mayanger also told Muivah, “you (Muivah) are my leader and my brother, please be sensible and realistic in your approach and reconsider your new scheme of a socialistic form of government which shall never be acceptable to our people, since the majority of our people are Christians today. You may be thinking that you can do anything as you wish under the might of arms, but once you adopt socialism it will be a political blunder and our people will fight against us even with Jathi (spear) and dao. The consequence thereof shall be the blood of Nagas flow like a River. You please deeply reconsider your scheme of action for the sake of national unity. In such a fragile situation even a slight mistake would shatter the unity of the nation at any moment”. His prediction was also undisputedly became true, Mayangerwas killed by Muivah in November 1979 along with other NNC/FGN leaders (16 of them) for they opposed Muivah’s socialism. Then false charge sheets were made against their dead bodies as traitor or supporter of Shillong Accord. But their words before they were killed remained forever as a living witness; that is; Muivah kills me as I opposed his socialism, said Lt Col Visazo, Ngathingkhui, Mayanger etc.  And Muivah and his comrades are now in Delhi the capital of India the aggressor to accept the constitution of India without arms struggle by betraying his own words.
