‘Historicity cultural diversity & identities in northeast India’ book released

Lumami, August 4 (MExN): A book titled ‘Historicity cultural diversity and identities in northeast India’ was released in the Department of Sociology Nagaland University, Lumami by Professor A. Lanu Ao, former Pro- Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University.  

The book contains academic debate on the issues of Multiculturalism, ethnicity, illegal immigration as emerging issues in northeast India. Regional disparity and dynamics of development in the northeast region, cultural revivalism and demand for autonomy as well as land and identity formation in the region are some of the broad areas discussed lucidly by many eminent scholars in the book.  

As an introductory note of the book Prof M.N karna has elaborately discussed the conceptual and theoretical problems in understanding the issues in northeast.  

The book is edited by Dr. Temjensosang and Dr. Athungo Ovung, Assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, NU. The literature used in the book is authentic and rich based on scientific data therefore, it would be beneficial for academician, researcher, administrators and policy makers. The book is priced at Rs. 380/- and is published by Heritage Publication House, Dimapur.
