Dimapur, March 13 (MExN): The Home Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton has expressed his sadness to learn about the demise of Takatula, mother of Dr SC Jamir, Governor of Odisha and former Nagaland Chief Minister; SI Jamir, Adviser, Urban Development; and grandmother of C Apok Jamir, Parliamentary Secretary of Tourism, on March 12 at Dimapur. She was 103 and survived by 4 sons, 3 daughters, 31 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
In a condolence note received here, Patton said Late Takatula had lived her full life and as God-fearing person.
“She remained humbled and her life itself a message to all” he noted adding that “In her death, Aos lost a true mother in particular and the Nagas in general and the void created by her death will be difficult to fill.’
I joined by my wife convey our heartfelt condolences to sons and daughters of late Takatula and pray to Almighty Lord to grant them strength at this hour of grief, Patton added.
May the Almighty Lord grant peace to the Departed Soul, he further said.

The Minister for National Highways and Mechanical Engineering, Nuklutoshi, has expressed shock at the passing away of Takatula.
In a condolence message today, the Minister said it was amazing to note that late Takatula had given births to Dr SC Jamir, Governor of Odisha and the former Chief Minister of Nagaland, besides her other son, SI Jamir, who is also Adviser, Urban Development, Nagaland and grandson, C Apok Jamir, Parliamentary Secretary, Tourism. God had showered blessings upon her to have such tall Naga leaders who had become the household names in the history of the Nagas, he said.
Nuklutoshi said that in her long journey of life, she had shown humanity and simple life and gave her best to her children. Her life had become an inspiration to Naga males and women.
In her death, an inspirational mother to the Nagas in general and Aos in particular has been lost. The void created by her death will be difficult to fill, the Minister said.
Conveying his condolences to the bereaved family members of late Takatula, the Minister prayed to Almighty God to grant solace to the family members at this hour of sorrow. May the departed soul rest in peace, he prayed.
