A holistic care for your child

EarthCare Children Crèche inaugurated in Dimapur

Dimapur | September 17

With a mission to provide social, emotional, physical and cognitive development to children, the EarthCare Children Crèche was inaugurated here today at Indisen Village, Dimapur.

The brainchild of Susan Lotha, a social worker and counselor for juveniles under the Juvenile Justice Board, the Crèche was penned with a commandment to serve and to work collaboratively with community organization and stakeholders.

Talking about the initiative, Susan, a single working mother herself, said that the crèche was opened with an earnest objective to help working parents, especially single mothers, who often face difficulties to juggle between tasks. We are committed to give special privilege and concession for single mothers, she added.

It was also started to give the children holistic care, which so far is found missing in most of the present offering, Susan maintained.

For starters, a trained nurse and caregiver with 10 years of experience in taking care of infants and children aptly assists Susan. A mother is also working in a part-time process.   Presently, the crèche provides infant rooms for toddlers between 7 months to 18 months, including skills training as well as balanced dietary provision. For children between 18 to 30 months, apart from care, it provides life skills and learning through games, songs, puzzles and other interactive learning.

The fee is structured according to choice and convenience of the clients – monthly, hourly or daily basis. As a philanthropist and someone concerned with social issue, Susan said that the crèche takes it as an ethical issue to take required permission such as the No Objection Certificate from the Social Welfare Department and other concerned authorities.

It must be mentioned here that while many such facilities exist, a number of them are running without proper requirements and provisions intact.

The crèche has fully built in safeguards, including a fire escape – something unseen in this part of the world. Earlier, the programme started with a special prayer by Rev. Dr. Alemmeren, the pioneering Naga missionary at large, while three children formally opened the crèche by cutting the ribbons.

In a short speech, he said that children are gifts of God and they must find a place in our heart as human beings. The crèche is good step towards that, he added.

The dedication message and prayer were given by Pastor Kevi and Pastor Atse, of Kingdom Culture Church.
