The book launch of ‘Heart Cry of the Singles’ by Hollika Chopy, published by PenThrill Publication House, was held at Saramati Hotel on July 16 in the presence of her family and friends. The book confronts the often-overlooked stigma surrounding singlehood, particularly as experienced by women and revolves around finding true love in God.
The launch started at 1:00 pm, chaired by Honoli Zhimomi, who briefly introduced the author’s debut book and expressed her admiration towards her work. The event was followed by invocation by Pastor Keshibo Chishi of Urban Mission Church, Dimapur.
In the publisher’s note, Vishü Rita Krocha, described the book as a “timely intervention” in a world where single shaming persists. “Being single is not a sign of failure,” she said, urging to recognize the book not just as a voice for singles, but a call for societal empathy. She encouraged the gathering to support local authors and reminded them “while everything else will eventually fade, books are forever.”
Following a special musical performance by Puloka Chuzo, author Hollika Chopy took the stage to share her journey. She candidly spoke about the emotional and spiritual battles she faced while writing the book including self-doubt, technical setbacks, and moments of discouragement. “The greatest challenge I had to battle was with myself, with my thoughts, with my mindset, with the voices in my head always trying to drag me down,” she shared. However, her faith in God kept her going. “The main objective, or the main reason I wrote this book, is to spread the good news of salvation” she stressed.
Though titled “Heart Cry of the Singles,” Chopy explained that the book is not limited to single readers. “It is a testimony of salvation, a story of finding true love and joy in Christ,” she said, highlighting the spiritual motivation behind her writing. She emphasized that her goal was to offer hope, not just to singles, but to anyone struggling with purpose or self-worth.
The book was formally released and dedicated by Rev Mulato Chishi, Director of Team Connect Ministry, who blessed the book and reminded the audience, “God is not looking for the qualified, but the willing.” He urged the author to continue writing and using her gift to serve God and inspire others. Drawing comparisons to hymn writer Fanny Crosby, he highlighted how simple obedience can leave a lasting impact and hopes that the book would touch the lives of many people.
‘Heart Cry of the Singles’ is available for purchase for Rs 250 and is already been lauded as a must-read for its mix of personal vulnerability, spiritual insight, and social relevance. The event also featured a display of books from other Naga authors, reinforcing the region’s growing literary spirit.
