KOHIMA, MARCH 22 (MExN): A farewell program in honour of outgoing Additional Secretary, Home, Shayung Phom was held at conference hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima on March 21, a DIPR report has stated.
Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, in his address, said that in many years of association with the outing officer, he found Shayung Phom to be very sincere and honest in his dealing with everyone who came in contact with him. He said that Shayung has been a very dedicated officer who served the government and the people with the best of his ability serving mostly in the remote and challenging areas his entire career.
Sinha also said that looking at the posting places and his career profile, one can easily see the amount of sacrifices he made to ensure the good governance reaches the remotest areas in the best possible manner. He congratulated Phom on his career and wished him a happy and healthy retired life.
Secretary Home, Orenthung Lotha speaking on behalf of the home department said that among the 1996 NCS batch mates, Phom was the one who got many important and challenging assignments and gave the best service to the state government and to the people as well. Wishing the best retirement life he hoped that Shayung will continue to give his best for the people after his retirement.
Shayung Phom, while delivering his farewell speech, put forth his humble request to all the departments in the Civil Secretariat to organise befitting and grand farewell program also for the MTAs during their retirement as he observed that only higher ranking officers are giving such grand farewell.
He also expressed his gratitude to all the officers and staffs of the department for their constant guidance and support during his tenure. He hoped to continue giving his service in all possible manners for the welfare of the people after his retirement.
Short speeches were also delivered by NSSSA, Grade-IV Association and Kovi Meyase, NCS batch mate of the outgoing officer during the program.
