Home Guards relate to security: Noke asserts

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): ‘Home Guards relate to security, therefore the personnel should remain smart and alert,’ Advisor, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF Nagaland, Noke Wangnao maintained while inaugurating the new office building of Home Guards Commandant’s office at Central Training Institute, Toluvi in Dimapur on August 20.

Gracing the inaugural as the special guest, a DIPR report stated that Noke lauded the institute for training people from across the district while noting that the trainees, trainers and volunteers has rendered commendation services specially during the pandemic. He encouraged the officers and all ranks of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF to further continue to impart trainings to the volunteers through the institution so that they would be able to handle any calamities. Earlier, Noke unveiled the plaque of the new office building.

Director General, SDRF, CD, Prison, Rupin Sharma IPS in his brief address informed that the campus started functioning since 1988 where a number of people and volunteers have been trained till date. He also informed that the State Government has notified CTI as the training institute for private security agencies.

Presenting the technical report, EE, PEP Chümoukedima informed that the total project cost of the two-storied office building was Rs 3,78,28,000 covering a total plinth area of 10136 square feet. The ground floor has 9 rooms with two common toilets while the first floor comprises of seven rooms, one conference hall and two common toilets.

Pastor, CTI church, Asemba Longchar invoked God's blessings while Commandant General, Bendang Lemtur, IPS proposed the vote of thanks. The programme chaired by Dy Commandant General, Medozhalie Penyie was attended by all rank and files of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF.
