Kohima, March 20 (MExN): In response to MLA Mmhonlumo Kikon’s allegation that he was intimidated and threatened to withdraw the questions submitted by him for the ensuing NLA session, Home Minister Y Patton today clarified that any responsible member in the house is free to ask any question(s) in any department and accordingly the department concerned is duty bound to provide the required reply on the floor of the house. “Therefore threat against asking queries, be it by the home department or any of my supporters, is highly questionable and objectionable,” Patton maintained in a press statement. “However if there has been any such threat as posed by the MLA from any quarter, through social media or text messages or in any form, I request the MLA to lodge a complaint to the police so that proper investigation would be initiated and stern action will be taken as per the law of the land which would also ensure that such incidents does not take place in future,” the Home Minister added.
