The NPCC utterances especially in the recent past is understandable and pitiable on the fact that after their humiliating defeat in the Aonglenden by- election, they have also realized that they are already sitting in the sinking boat fully aware that they will be drowned very soon. Out of such frustration they are venting out erratic statements just to draw the people’s attention and portray that the State Congress party is still alive and kicking. Perhaps the people will teach them further good lesson in the next election.
The June 4 NPCC statement is a expected one as they have already diluted the Naga political issue and filtered it to a mere law & order problem. The NPCC had tried to belittle the Naga people issue by terming it only as a mere law and order problem but I reiterate that the law and order and political issue are different and therefore it has to be dealt differently. The NPCC lecturing on the NPF and the DAN Govt. as to how the conduct of the Govt. business should be handled is very fascinating. in order to cover up their past misadventure the state Congress party has embark upon a tired allegation despite the fact that people have already deserted them comprehensively. The state Congress party feel embarrass when people talk about their past Governance because they cannot defend their act of omission and commission.
I have stated that the signing of the 16 point memorandum by the Naga people convention with the GOI was not proper and trustworthy because the Naga national council was not consulted nor taken into confidence while finalizing these points of memorandum. I have also stated that we are happy with the statehood but not satisfied with the present constitutional arrangement and therefore political talks are still going on with the GOI by the Naga national leaders. If NPCC wanted to question me for raising this 16 point memorandum, do they mean to say that Naga political problem is over as they stated in Bed Rock of Naga Society or are they satisfied with the present constitutional arrangement, I urge the NPCC people to state clearly to the Naga people. The NPCC are always in the habit of threatening and blackmailing which is quite understandable, they are threatening and profiling me as a rebel leader in order to draw the attention of Delhi, but at the same time, NPCC has also reminded that GOI has its own mechanism to tame such people”. They are alleging that I am painting Nagaland “as a picture of insurgency infested state in order to obtain huge money for counter insurgency operation. as far as the state Govt. was concerned”. “we have only law & order problem NPCC”. This is the clear stand and inner mind of the NPCC over the Naga political issue. The people are the best judge whether the state congress party is really patriotic and sincere enough to solve the Naga political issue. Once again, they have exposed themselves of their standing position in the Naga political issue in their 4th June statement. The ironic truth of the NPCC stand exposed with this statement and this has further confirmed their stand as it is contained in the Bed Rock of Naga Society.
