Other maladies include eye and dental problems and worm infestation which are due to poor hygiene and the doctors who are specialize in various medical disciplines said that they were creating awareness as they treated about 600 villagers of different ages.

The team was assisted by Home Minister Thenucho’s wife, Dr. Bano, MD, resident medico Dr. Sharma and a host of the nurses posted at the Government Hospital here. Dr. Kholie said that the health center in the area should include one dentist as his services are very essential.

The camp was also an appropriate opportunity for the Home Minister to introduce his lady wife to the general public as this was her maiden visit to the constituency after their recent marriage.

It may be mentioned that Thenucho had sponsored the medical camp through LADF resources. Chairman of Yoruba Village Council, Sahinuyo Veswuh and President of Yoruba women Society, Nobilu warmly felicitated the couple and expressed confidence that Dr. Bano would endeavor to guide and improve the socio-economic conditions of the people of the constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said, “Peace is the backbone of all round development, progress and prosperity. Good health is pre-requisite for prosperity.

However, due abuse of health through alcohol and psychotropic substances, people tend to get ill or even die early”. He also made a fervent appeal to all the Naga national workers ‘wherever they go’ to try and ensure peaceful atmosphere in the State.

Free taxi service was provided to ferry the aged group of the village from their houses to the camp site. The Minister also visited various old people who could not move out of the house.

The SDO (C) of Chozuba and the entire administrative staff including the DBs were present to lend their moral support towards the success of the medical camp.
