Kohima, July 29 (MExN): The homegoing service of P Talitemjen Ao was held on July 29 at The Heritage in Officers’ Hill, Kohima. A host of dignitaries, government officials, representatives of various public organizations, and well-wishers gathered to pay their final respects to a man who had dedicated his whole life to the welfare of the people and had served the Government of Nagaland in various capacities even after his retirement, a DIPR report stated in Friday.

According to the DIPR, many in their eulogies, expressed how he had been a role model for all and how he had served the government with utmost integrity and dedication. His humble and caring nature and his unfaltering faith in God are what set him apart from the rest. A man of few words who chose to lead by example, his contributions to the State are unmatched and one notable achievement was how under his leadership as the first Chief Information Commissioner of the State, the Nagaland Information Commission was set up, it said.

After the service, the mortal remains of P Talitemjen Ao was taken to his native village Akhoya, Mokokchung where he will be laid to rest, it informed.
