Hornbill Bamboo Fashion Night spotlights sustainable style

Models and designers showcase bamboo-inspired creations at the Hornbill Bamboo Fashion Night in Chümoukedima.

The Hornbill Bamboo Fashion Night, organised by Vogue Entertainment Nagaland in partnership with the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA), showcased bamboo-inspired fashion at the Bamboo Resource Centre, 6th Mile, Chümoukedima, on December 7. The event was part of the Hornbill Bamboo Carnival under the 26th Hornbill Festival.

Miss Grand 3rd Runner-Up 2025, Tsurila Yimkhiung, attended as special guest. Designers Vilhousa Movi, Kezhaselie Seyie, Kekhrielhoutunuo Rutsa and Aso Tsürho presented collections featuring bamboo-based elements in clothing, accessories and textiles.

The show was directed by Kuno Resuh, with choreography by Ravolu Chuzho and makeup led by Vinili Sunuh. Musical performances by Tsuveto Resuh, Neisemenuo Yhome, Wekupe Therie, Kina Angelina and Changki Changkiri added to the evening.

NBDA Chairman Nuzota Swuro was also present and highlighted the agency’s focus on promoting bamboo as an economic and creative resource. The Hornbill Bamboo Fashion Night aims to encourage sustainable design practices and position Nagaland as a centre for eco-friendly fashion.
