KCCI announces Hornbill Night Carnival 2018

  Our Correspondent Kohima | November 14   The Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) today announced that Hornbill Night Carnival 2018 will take place in Kohima from December 1-10 as part of Hornbill festival of Nagaland. The location will be from MLA Hostel Junction, Phoolbari to Razhu Point from 6: 00 PM to 9:00 PM.   Addressing media persons here, KCCI president Medozhatuo Rutsa and KCCI publicity & information secretary Kaihrii Henry Chisiite said the whole stretch of the carnival will be “Plastic Free Zone” as per guidelines of the state government.   In this regard, the KCCI in association with Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) will make alternative arrangement to use paper bag during the carnival. The KCCI informed that there will be total ban on sale of alcohol in the carnival. It stated that stall selling alcohol will have their license cancelled on the spot.   A mass social work will be held on November 24 from 6:00 AM to 12:00 noon.   All the business establishments along the highway and in town areas to join the same by painting the front face of their respective shops, put proper lighting and also place a dustbin. The KCCI will issue form from November 15 at its office and submission of form has been fixed on November 22.   Rutsa said the KCCI will give opportunity to the local entrepreneurs to run the stall. Selection will also be based on the past experience of the applicants. The selected list will be declared on November 24.   Rutsa said that this time round the KCCI will strictly check the exorbitant rate of food products and also insist on food safety measure. Stall holders will have to sell food and drinks at a reasonable rate, it informed. The night carnival will witness around 200 stalls.
