Hornbill Festival 2018: 19,953 visitors on Day-1

The day-1 of the premier Nagaland's  Hornbill Festival registered a total of 19, 953 visitors at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.  

Out of 19, 953, there were 382 belonging to foreign tourists, 3371 domestic tourists and 16,200 local visitors.  

Meanwhile, the festival will witness several dignitaries for the next nine days.  Nagaland’s Governor PB Acharya will be the chief guest for Day 2 event at Kisama.  

Day 3 event will be graced by Dr Sanchindanand Josjhi, member secretary Indira Gandhi National University Centre for Arts.  

Rev. Fred Nile, ED member of Legislative Council, Australia and Venkatesham, secretary tourism department, Telangana will be the chief guests for day 4- (morning and afternoon) event respectively.  

Union Minister for tourism KJ Alphons and Rajeev Kumar, vice chairman Niti Aayog will grace stone pulling ceremony at Chiephobozou on December 5 at 11:00 AM.  

In the afternoon event at Kisama, WR Reddy, director general, National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India will be the special guest.  

Mizoram’s Governor Kummanam Rajasekhar will be the chief guest while Major General VK Mishra, GOC, HQ 57, Mountain Division will be the special guest in the morning event on December 6.  

The afternoon event will witness the presence of Air Marshal Raghunath Nambiar, AVSM VM & BAR AOC-in- C Chief Eastern Air Command as chief guest.  

Union minister of state for tribal affairs Jaswanrsingh Bhabor and Lt. Gen. Sukhdeep Sangma, DG HQ DGAR Shillong will grace day 7.  

Lt. General Gopal R, AVSM, General Commanding 3 Corps will grace Day 9 while Damiano Francovigh, Italian consult General Kolkata will be the honoured guest.
