Chümoukedima, November 4 (MExN): Whack Club and School of Football advanced to the finals of the Hornbill Football Tournament 2025 after winning their respective semifinal matches here on Tuesday.
The tournament is being organised by the 173 BN CRPF in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) at the Sammogooting Football Stadium.
Whack Club secured its place in the final following a dominant performance by player Hangninlo, who scored all five goals for the team.
The School of Football faced a tough challenge but clinched its victory with one goal each from players Japeth, Vizo, and Pulovi.
Both teams progressed on the back of accurate passing and superior coordination, officials said.
The final match will be played between the two sides for the tournament trophy.
The inaugural programme held on November 3 was attended by Dr Kuzonyi Wideo, NCS, ADC Chümoukedima, Sandeep Yadav, DC CISF and Harendra, Dy Director SAI, Dimapur, Greenstone Boxing Coach, SAI Dimapur and other officials.
Total eight local clubs are taking part in the tournament, which will culminate on November 5.
