
Our Correspondent Kohima | November 23 Little Fire Production, the event management of the Hornbill International Music Festival 2016 under the aegis of Music Task Force (MTF) today announced the calendar of events from December 1 to 10. The Hornbill International Music Festival 2016 will be launched on December 1 at Dimapur with Hornbill Bollywood Dhamaka featuring KK on December 1 and Kailash Kher on December 3. December 2 will feature Hornbill Music Night, a concert of good rock music by Incipit, Polar Lights and Boomarang of Mizoram. Kohima launch of Hornbill music festival will take place on December 4 at Hockey Ground, Indira Gandhi Stadium with celebrated and established bands of Naga music. There will be a choir competition on December 5 in association with NBCC and The Voice of Hornbill singing competition. December 6 will feature finest vocalists in Nagaland. This concert will feature songs from super hit musicals, namely Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables, Evita, Phantom of The Opera, Chess and song and dance.’ On December 7, there will be qualifying round of India Beatbox championship and Hornbill International Rock Contest. This India Beatbox Championship will feature the world champion Alem from France who is coming to conduct a workshop at The Heritage, Kohima on December 6 and will judge the event as well. The Rock contest will be judged by famous VJ, actor and musician Luke Kenny, veteran musician Uday Benegal of Rock Machine and Indus Creed and Naga expert sound engineer Atsung Jamir. On 8 December, the final of the India Beatbox championship and 2nd qualifying round of the Hornbill Intentional Rock Contest will take place. Also in association with India Beatbox Association, Bangalore, there will be attempt of the Limca Record for the maximum beatboxers at one time. There will be Hornbill Dance Competition and final of Hornbill International Rock Contest on December 9. Considering that the youth make up the major chunk in the Nagaland demographics, a special emphasis is being paid to them with EDM music, and to celebrate the artistry and creativity of the Naga youth, a Cosplay day is also one of the major events. From December 5 onwards, events at the Hornbill Music festival will start at 12:30 PM. A Little Music Village is being created where patrons will be entertained throughout the day and into the night by the best musicians in the state and around the country. There will be over 40 pop-up restaurants and stalls for food, beverage, clothing, fashion, art and crafts at the festival venue. Since all Nagas can sing, there will be Karoake competition everyday where the audience can sing and win cash prizes. This was informed at the press conference here at Dream Café, Kohima.
