Various horticultural crops have been affected across the state due to drought like conditions and other vagaries of nature.

As per the information provided by Nagaland’s Agriculture Production Commissioner, in Mokokchung district, cucumber cultivators numbering 98 households at Chungtia with plantation in 52 hectares (Ha) have been affected due to drought like conditions.

Other affected villages includes; Aliba (Cucumber) 52 households-30 Ha; Kinunger (Cucumber) 38 households-18 Ha; and Akhoya (Vegetables and other field crops)  -  62 households -86 Ha.
 
Tuensang district
•    Chendang, Shamator, Sangphur, Angangba village (Large Cardamom) - 1000 households-100 Ha
•    Sangphur (Banana)  - 80 households and 30 Ha.
•    Angangba, Lirise, Sangphur Village (Vegetable) 250 households-20 Ha
 
Kohima district
•    Kohima village (Large Cardamom) 2 households, 5 Ha: Crop damaged due to leaf blight disease.
•    Gariphema (French Bean) 11 households, 2 Ha: Germination affected due to drought like conditions.
•    Seiyhama (French Beans & Other beans) 18 households, 3 Ha: Crop damaged due to attack of bean beetle.
•    Khonoma (Potato) 30 households, 16-18 Ha: Germination affected due to drought like conditions and also infestation of Leaf hopper.
 
Dimapur district
•    Tenyiphe-I (Ginger, Okra) 11 households, 8 Ha:  poor germination and crop failure due to drought like conditions.
•    Naga United and Tsithrongse village (Colocasia) 11 households, 6 ha: crop failure due to drought like conditions.
•    Virazoma (Tomato) 10 households, 8 Ha: crop failure due to drought like conditions.
 
Wokha District
•    Ronsuyan (Chilli & ginger) 10 households, 1 Ha: Poor germination due to drought like conditions.
•    Liphayan (Chilli) 25 households,4 Ha:  Poor germination due to drought like conditions
•    Tsungiki (Chilli, Colocasia) 80 households,16 Ha: Poor germination due to drought like conditions.
•    Wokha/ New Wokha Village (Vegetables & passion fruit) 280 households,110 Ha: crops damaged due to hailstorm on April 2, 2021
•    Vankhosung (Polyhouse) 1 household,1 unit  structure: Damaged due to hailstorm on April 2, 2021
•    Chukitong (Polyhouse) 1 household,1 unit: Structure damaged due to hailstorm on April 2, 2021
•    Lower MTC, Wokha (Polyhouse) 1 household,1 unit: Structure damaged due to hailstorm on April 2, 2021.
 Noklak District
•    Noklak village (Cabbage) 60 households,20 Ha: Poor germination and stunted growth due to drought like conditions.
•    Sanglao village (Chillies) 50 households,2 Ha: Poor germination due to drought like conditions.
•    Nokyan village (Carrot) 10 households, 10 Ha: Poor quality of harvest due to drought like conditions.
 
Mon District
•    Longwa (Large Cardamom) 20 households,5 Ha;  S/ Wamsa 24 households,6 Ha; S/ Chingnyu 25 households, 6 Ha; Tanhai 18 households,4 Ha; and Wakching 19 households, 4 Ha.
•    Leangnyu   (Naga Mircha) 16 households, 4 Ha and Yannyu 22 household, 5 Ha.
•    Wanching (Ginger) 26 households, 6 Ha and Wakching 24 households, 5 Ha
•    Tangnyu (Citrus) 10 household, 5 Ha; Tuimei 10 households 5 Ha; and  Shiyong 14 households, 6 Ha.
•    Tobu vegetables (Chilli, Brinjal, Colocasia etc) 30 households, 3 Ha; , Wakching 32 households, 4 Ha and Longching 28 household, 3 Ha.

The office of the Nagaland’s Agriculture Production Commissioner remarked that the crop damaged in Mon district as “poor germination due to drought like conditions, hailstorm, mudslide etc.” Report from other districts awaited at the time of filling this report.
