Mokokchung, October 11 (MExN): Horticulture Department inaugurated marketing shed at Akumen and Lirmen villages and a village gate at Tsurmen village on October 7.
Director of Horticulture, Watienla Jamir inaugurated the marketing sheds and the gate in the presence of departmental officers.
At the marketing shed inauguration, Pastor of Akumen Baptist Church, I. Temjen invoked God's blessing while Mendang, Chairman of Akumen Village Council delivered the welcome address.
At Tsurmen village, Watienla appreciated the completion of the village gate construction in such a short span of time. She was of the view that the entire area has lots of potentials, but the road connectivity needs to be improved. She further advised the farmers to cultivate crops as per the demand in the market.
A press release informed that the inaugural programme of the gate was chaired by Nungsangkaba Longkumer (retired teacher), invocation prayer by Rev. A. Mar Pongen, Pastor of Lirmen Baptist Church, and a short speech by the Chairman of Tsurmen vllage.
