Kohima, March 2 (DIPR): The Department of Horticulture organized a farewell programme in honour of their outgoing Director, Pawan Kumar on March 1 at the directorate’s conference hall here.
Pawan Kumar thanked God for blessing him and letting him complete 35 years of service in good health. He also thanked his junior officers and staff of the Department for the cooperation rendered to him during his term of service. Maintaining that anything is achievable when people work as a team, he requested all the officers and staff to give full cooperation to the incoming Director. He further urged the employees to remain sincere, honest, transparent and hardworking in whatever they do in order to achieve real success.
Others who spoke at the programme included Parliamentary Secretary for Horticulture, Kejong Chang, Secretary, Horticulture department, Alan Gonmei (IAS), incoming Director, Arun Mech, directorate officers and subordinates, District Horticulture Officers and subordinates and other well wishers.
The programme was chaired by Deputy Director Horticulture, N. Amos Ao. Welcome speech and vote of thanks were delivered by Deputy Director of Horticulture, Qhutovi Wotsa and District Horticulture Officer, Dimapur, Jerry Patton respectively.
