Hoshepu village bodies condemn alleged assault on Ato Kilonser Isak Sumi, family

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 6 (MExN): The Hoshepu village Citizens and Organisations including the Hoshepu Village Council (HVC) and the Hoshepu Village Students Union (HVSU) have condemned what it termed as the “sordid act of some members of the NSCN/GPRN-K, who physically assaulted and tortured the Ato Kilonser, Isak Sumi and his family on January 4.”

A joint statement from the organizations also demanded that Col Phuyeka Achumi and his “host of enablers” to publicly apologize to Isak Sumi and his family, for allegedly “orchestrating a life attempt and assaulting the family.” The citizens and leaders of Hoshepu Village will not condone these egregious actions against its bonafide members, by any individual or group, they stated.

The organizations added that these “petty acts of violence and intimidation towards each other do not reflect the interest of the Naga society, at this crucial juncture of Naga history.” They meanwhile appealed to the national workers to exude leadership and character in their service for the nation.

“The citizens and leaders of Hoshepu Village, acknowledge the sacrifice and service of the Ato Kilonser Isak Sumi and his family towards the Naga cause, and strongly stand by their family in this time of adversity,” the organizations added.
