Kohima, March 19 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department in collaboration with the Department of Health & Family Welfare and Geo Hazards Society, India, organised a three-day hospital disaster preparedness & capacity building programme at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK). 

The main objective of the training is for doctors and medical practitioners to be prepared for any hazards that Nagaland is vulnerable to, stated a press release issue by Lhouchalie Viya IAS Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland. 

The training also aims to bring out Hospital Disaster Management Plans for all District Hospitals, CHCs and PHCs. Various topics to be covered during the training include Earthquake Preparedness in Health Facilities, Falling hazards and fire hazards risk identification and mitigation. Formation of Hospital Disaster Management Committee and Incident Response System etc
The resource persons for the programme are Dr Hari Kumar, Pranav, Shivangi and Tiakala Difusa. 

During the inaugural held on March 19, Johnny Ruangmei, Jt CEO, NSDMA, gave a brief overview of the training. Short speeches were delivered by Dr Sendimeren Aonok, Managing Director NHAK, H&FW and Dr Ritu Thur, Principal Director, H&FW. 

The vote of thanks was given by Khrolou Koza Lohe, Assistant Manager (Training & Education), NSDMA. The inaugural was chaired by Dr Nyan Kikon, Deputy Director & State Nodal Officer, DM Cell DoH&FW.
