House of another NPP worker attacked

IMPHAL, February 10 (NNN): In yet another poll related incident, the house of a worker of National People’s Party (NPP) came under attack with guns by miscreants. According to reports, some unknown persons opened fire at the house of one Yensembam Subhaschandra in Wangkhem village under Irilbung police station on Wednesday around 11:00 pm.

Subhaschandra is an active worker of the NPP candidate from Keirao Assembly constituency.

No human casualty was reported in the firing but two vehicles– a Maruti Gypsy and one Tata Eris – parked at the front courtyard of the house were damaged by bullets, police said. Three empty cases were recovered during spot enquiry by the police.

Meanwhile, condemning the gun threat at the house, local women staged a sit-in-protest in the village. They drew the attention of the concerned authorities to find out the culprit(s) and booked them under the law. While alleging that the gun attack was to terrorize the people they urged all concerns to allow the voters to cast their votes to the candidates of their choice.

The gun attack came barely a day after miscreants opened fire at the house of another NPP worker in the constituency on Wednesday night.
