Dimapur, December 30 (MExN): Hozukhe Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (Hozukhe Students Union) celebrated its silver jubilee on December 28 and 29 last with “prospective generation” as its theme.
Er. Kiyeto Shohe, Junior Engineer Electrical Dimapur graced the celebration as chief guest. V. Phutoi Zhimomi, Kilonser, Natural Resources, FGN unveiled the jubilee monolith. Dr. Antoly Suu, Deputy CMO Dimapur was the speaker of the jubilee while Dr. Auto V. Assistant Surgeon (Veterinary), Kiphire graced the conclusion session as guest of honour.
Speaking at the inaugural session as chief guest, Er. Kiyeto dwelt on the theme of the jubilee stating that the younger generation play a pivotal role in the prospect of a society and thus, must pursue their goal and add towards the growth of Naga society.
Outlining the importance of education, the chief guest said education is an instrument that can make an individual or a nation rich and powerful while also act as a bridge to peace and unity among different nations or individuals. He called upon the students to set education as their primary focus and to attain it with humility and hard work.
He encouraged the students not to depend solely on government jobs but to look beyond government jobs and grab the good opportunities that come along. He also called upon the parents to give more attention on their children, invest on them and mould them to better citizens.
V. Phutoi Zhimomi, who was the founding general secretary of Hozukhe Kiphimi Kuqhakulu reflected upon on how the union was formed in the village. He opined that mass participation of students in curricular activities will help them widen the parameters of their learning abilities. On the occasion of jubilee, he challenged the students to recommit themselves and set a goal to achieve.
Heyito Ahumi, GB Hozukhe village, Atokiho Sumi, President Western Sumi Students’ Union and V. Hukato Jimomi, SDO Power Department also exhorted the students on the occasion.
