Newmai News Network Imphal | April 8 Education Minister Th Radheshyam Singh has warned of stern action against those responsible for the recent Class XII Physics question paper leak on April 5 during the examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM). He said those responsible for the paper leak will be punished, if found guilty. He assured that officials ranging from bottom to the top will not be spared in this case. “The question paper was opened at 9:15 am and the leaked paper was unexpectedly circulated at 9:20 am,” Radheshyam told a press meet at RMSA office, Babupara. Radheshyam suspected that the paper leak originated from the particular examination hall indicating involvement of officials who were on duty inside the hall. He said the Cyber Crime Unit of Manipur Police is investigating the matter to bring all culprits to book and that the Education Department will also carry out inquiry into the incident to punish the culprits. But Radheshyam was very clear about the government’s stand to cancel any proposal on conduct of a re-examination for the leaked paper. It may be mentioned that 16 persons, including 12 students were arrested by the Imphal West Cyber Crime Unit yesterday in connection with the paper leak incident. Meanwhile, the Joint Students’ Co-ordination Committee (JSCC) has urged for conduct of re-examination for the Physics paper of Class XII. “COHSEM must announce their decision on the demand before April 10, JSCC convenor Sanasam Subhashchandra said during a press meet at Manipur Students Federation (MSF) office.
