HSSLC paper leak: Police identify 4 main accused

  Newmai News Network IMPHAL | April 10   Manipur police has finally identified four main accused in the COHSEM paper leak case following arrest of 16 persons.   “Police have found substantial evidence that the Class XII Physics paper leak originated from a Galaxy Institute of Sciences, Lilong, said Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) Secretary Dr M Bidyasagar at a press meet in his office.   He said the main accused are Principal of Galaxy Institute of Sciences, Lilong Md Abdur,39, Vice Principal Nongmaithem Mohen,47, Nameirakpam Romesh,32, an employee of the school, and Gurumayum Premchand Sharma,50, who was nominated by the Council as a Supervising Officer.   Bidyasagar said the four have been taken into police custody in connection with the paper leak case. He made COHSEM's stand clear that there will be no conduct of re-examination for the leaked Physics paper since the incident occurred at the opening of the question paper in the examination halls and at the time of start of the exam.   He thanked personnel of Imphal West Police and its Cyber Crime Unit for making the investigation priority that led to the arrest of the accused in the case.   Education Minister Th Radheshyam Singh had on April 8 warned of stern action against those responsible for the recent Class XII Physics question paper leak on April 5 prior to the examination conducted by COHSEM.   He said, "Those responsible for the paper leak will be punished, if found guilty. He assured that officials ranging from bottom to the top will not be spared in this case."
