
Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): The Wildlife Division, Dimapur conducted a programme on Human Animal Conflict Mitigation awareness campaign at ADC Conference Hall in Tseminyu village on May 10, with the objective to create more awareness and to instill in young minds “the importance of wildlife at an early age”.
The awareness programme is part of the wildlife’s division continuous campaign on “maximum awareness with effective enforcement” to solicit the support and cooperation of the public in protection of wildlife and to optimize their participation and involvement in effectively curbing wildlife crime.
The Chief Guest of the programme Vikhweno Mehratsu, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, in her speech stressed on the importance of preservation and conservation of wildlife and to stop hunting.
Earlier the welcome address was given by the Range Officer, Tseminyu Forest Range, the keynote address was delivered by S.P. Tripathi, IFS, PCCF & Chief Wildlife Warden, Nagaland.
Speeches were given by Sidramapa, IFS, DFO, Kohima, Forest Division and also by the GB’s and council members from Sendenyu, Kandinyu, Tesophenyu, Tseminyu villages respectively. The students from Baptist High School also attended and performed a special song.
Power point presentation was given by Tsuseki from Bhutan Glory Eco-club Fakim, Kiphire.
