‘Human Rights should uplift humanity’

Human Rights Day commemorated in Tuensang 

Tuensang, December 10 (MExN): The International Human Rights Council (IHRC), Tuensang in collaboration with Assam Rifles, Tuensang observed Human Rights Day with the theme, ‘Stand up for Human Rights’ at 28 AR Sport Complex, Tuensang on December 10.

A press release from IHRC Tuensang stated that speaking in the event, Commandant 28 AR Tuensang said that rights should not be governed only by some section. “In the law of nature, Rights are governed by the mighty but in human society, it should be governed by everyone,” he articulated. “Human Rights do not always mean absolute rights. If the rights are not constructive and are irresponsible then, the rights are violated. Human Rights should construct sense and uplift humanity,” he stated.

IHRC Nagaland, State Vice-Secretary, B Yemlongchaba speaking on the theme stated that Rights should not be enjoyed by some section but by everyone. He said it is the duty of every intellectual community to educate and enable the person under the closet of their rights. 

The programme was chaired by Kaimangchoba, Media Officer, IHRC and introduction of IHRC was delivered by BM Yanchu, President, IHRC Tuensang. Mongko John I Chang from IHRC and Johan from AR presented a song each. 

The 28 AR also donated a computer set, table and chairs to IHRC Tuensang for their office use.
