The Special Gram Sabha meeting of Humsto village, dedicated to the preparation of the GPDP for the year 2024-25, was convened at the Humsto Village Council hall on December 16 at 10:00 am.

Following extensive discussions and the identification of gaps, the Sabha prioritised and approved activities to be undertaken under GPDP 2024-25. 

Some of the approved activities include maintenance of Agri Link Road and Plantation of various trees (MGNREGA); Water Harvesting Structure and Construction of Watch Tower convergence through JICA (GIA); and Construction of Community Toilet (XVFC). 

The critical gaps identified include street lights, pucca building for anganwadi centres, drainage, footsteps, drinking water facility in school/AWC and all-weather road. 

It may be stated that key figures, including Tushimanen Jamir, Wokha Block Nodal Officer for GPDP, Aruna Markose, Young Fellow (YF) from National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad, Anuranjan Singh, in charge of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Shishoi Oshom from Entrepreneurship Task Force (ETF)-Cell Wokha, along with representatives from the Department of NSRLM, Sericulture, Land Resources, and Money Wise-Center for Financial Literacy, participated in the meeting.

They highlighted schemes and offerings from their respective departments, including conducting awareness programmes on various schemes, with special attention to the PM Vishwakarma initiative. Various departments offered encouragement for villages to undertake activities that could converge with other opportunities.

Village Organizations (VO) and Shelf Help Groups took the stage, presenting on poverty-related issues, proposing a poverty reduction plan before the Gram Sabha, and engaging in discussions on development gaps within the villages. They emphasised critical gaps and requirements for micro-enterprise development and the social advancement of the villages.
