Zunheboto, May 26 (MExN): An awareness programme on hypertension was held at Zunheboto Town Lotha Baptist Church on May 26b in line with the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s directive for month-long observance of World Hypertension Day

Speaking at the awareness programme, Dr Mhonchan N Kithan, District Programme Officer (DPO), Non Communicable Diseases (NCD) highlighted on the symptoms and causes of hypertension. 

He explained on the importance of investigation and the preventive measures to be taken for hypertension. 

Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to health complications such as heart failure, stroke, kidney problem and eye problem, he added. 

Dr. Kithan urged the participants to go for regular blood pressure checkup, conduct more physical activity, decrease the intake of salt and avail proper treatment on time. 

The programme was attended by pastor and church members.
