I Am Stranded: SBI Branch clarifies on reversal of deposited amounts
Kohima, April 28 (MExN): The State Bank of India (SBI), Nagaland Secretariat Branch Kohima has clarified that the issue of crediting and reversal of money “Stranded Beneficiaries Working list” was due to instances of same accounts with different names.
The clarification came in the backdrop of crediting and debiting from accounts of beneficiaries of stranded persons outside Nagaland on April 27 who applied for assistance announced by state government.
“With reference to the Stranded Beneficiaries Working list credited and reversed on 27/04/2020, we clarify that there were many instances of same accounts with different names,” the branch informed.
“We have consulted the State Government on this issue and working on the list,” it added in the clarification iamstranded.nagaland.gov.in, a dedicated online portal launched by the Nagaland government to assist citizens of the state who are stranded outside due to ongoing nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The verified beneficiary list from the State Government will be credited on April 28, it added.
The tweet further implied that the issue has cropped up as “multiple persons have applied with the same bank account number.”
According to information on the portal, a total of 14903 people have been extended assistance by the government till April 27.
