Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC), comprising CANSSEA, FONSESA, NIDA, NSSA, and NF&ASA, today announced that it will escalate and intensify its ongoing pen-down strike from November 6 over the IAS induction issue.
In a circular, the JCC attributed the development to the expiry of its three-day dialogue timeline with the Government on November 3, noting that no response had been received.
The committee said further instructions regarding the intensified strike will be issued shortly.
The JCC expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the public and urged patience, emphasising that the protest aims to uphold meritocracy.
The committee has been demanding the “withdrawal of backdoor appointees” from the IAS select list and for upholding merit-based induction into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) state cadre. Citing a Right to Information (RTI) reply, the JCC on November 1 informed that a non-NPSC-recruited officer was included in the panel for induction into the IAS, alleging a “deliberate deviation” from established merit-based norms.
The JCC comprises the Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees’ Association (CANSSEA), Federation of Nagaland State Engineering Service Association (FONSESA), Nagaland Finance & Accounts Services Association (NF&ASA), Nagaland In-Service Doctors Association (NIDA), and Nagaland Secretariat Service Association (NSSA).
