ICAR-KVK Longleng holds various progs under 100 days action plan

Longleng, August 6 (MExN): The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng recently conducted series of ‘vital programmers’ under its 100 Days Action Plan with the aim of boosting local agricultural productivity and supporting farmers.

In a press release, KVK Longleng informed that the programmes included the distribution of essential agricultural tools to local farmers. 
A total of 129 farmers were provided with ICAR-CRIJAF Nail Weeders by Dr. Hari Charan Kalita, Head cum Senior Scientist of KVK Longleng, and staff under the guidance and support of the head of ICAR NEH Nagaland Centre, Dr. Homeswar Kalita, it said.

The initiative, part of the North Eastern Region (NER) programme, was carried out in collaboration with the ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres (CRIJAF), Kolkata, it added.

Meanwhile, the Kendra also hosted a certificate distribution programme under the ‘Doubling Farmers’ Income’ scheme by rewarding the efforts of farmers who have demonstrated significant improvements in their agricultural practices and productivity.

As part of the comprehensive support to farmers, KVK Longleng also conducted an intensive training programme under the 100 Days Action Plan with the objective of equipping farmers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively utilise the distributed inputs and implement improved agricultural practices, the release added.
