Participants during the activities conducted by ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Peren as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada celebrated from December 16 to 31, 2020.
Peren, January 8 (MExN): ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Peren successfully completed the Swachhta Pakhwada that was celebrated from December 16 to 31, 2020.
During the 15-day long celebration, various activities were organized and conducted by the KVK staffs with the active participation of local farmers/youth and farm women of Peren district, stated a press release issued by Dr L Babita Devi, Senior Scientist &Head (I/C), KVK Peren.
Some of the activities included display of banner and taking Swachhta Pledge, cleanliness and sanitation drive, stock maintenance, awareness on importance of water harvesting and recycling of waste water for kitchen gardening/horticulture application, Swachhta and COVID-19 related awareness and safe disposal of waste, cleanliness drive and distribution of inputs, awareness on waste to wealth, composting of kitchen and home waste materials and visit to compost unit, and Kisan Diwas.
The participants also shared their experiences and gave feedback on cultivation of improved varieties of rice, maize, Vanaraja chicks, vermicompost and water harvesting units. As a part of the programme, Face mask, broom, hand sanitizer, sprayer and dustbins were also distributed.
