ICAR organises awareness prog on Climate Resilient Agriculture

Dimapur, October 4 (MExN): An awareness programme on Climate resilient Agriculture was organized by KVK Dimapur in collaboration with ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region Nagaland Centre, Medziphema on September 28.

The programme started with registration of farmer participants followed by field visit at ICAR Research Farm. The farmers were shown the different research activities and demonstration farms/units. The farmers were then taken to KVK Dimapur training hall for Farmers Scientist Interaction which was followed by the Prime Minister Address on Dedication to the Nation of 35 crop varieties and ICAR-National Institute on Biotic Stress management, Raipur. 

Dr D J Rajkhowa, Joint Director, ICAR Nagaland Centre briefed the participants about the climate resilient varieties and its mitigation measures during climate aberrations. The programme ended with distribution of winter vegetable seeds and farm tools. 

Altogether 75 farmers and 33 staffs of KVK and ICAR, Nagaland Centre attended the programme.
