Chümoukedima, February 15 (MExN): Students of the Department of Education, ICFAI University Nagaland, gained hands-on insights into sheep farming during a one-day exposure trip to the Sheep Farm at Poilwa village in Peren district on February 14.

The programme was organised by the department in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) with the objective of extending learning beyond the classroom. The visit sought to provide experiential exposure by connecting academic concepts with practical observation in a natural setting.

During the trip, students interacted with farm personnel and observed day-to-day operations to understand the economic, environmental and social dimensions of sheep farming, informed a press release from the University.

The students were also introduced to aspects of farm management, sustainable practices and the role of livestock-based enterprises in supporting rural livelihoods, it said.

Such field-based initiatives are aimed at enriching students’ learning experiences and fostering a deeper understanding of community-linked development practices, it added.
