ICFAI University conducts workshop on Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 10 (MExN): The Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) under Ministry of HRD Initiatives, Government of India conducted one day workshop on ‘Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.’


The objective of the workshop was to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and to transform them into prototypes. Dr. Imtinungsang Jamir, Coordinator of E-Cell welcomed the participants by highlighting the success journey of E-Cell and how promisingly the IUN students have excelled through every opportunity into becoming an industrially ready graduate.


Prof. CP Alexander, Vice Chancellor of IUN delivered the special address and encouraged the participants to play a crucial role to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem to help India emerge as global innovation hub. 


Rupanka Bhuyan, President of IUN’s IIC in his keynote address further stated that India has already been improving on global stage in terms of innovation ranking from 86th in 2014 to 52nd place in 2019. The technical sessions were conducted by Dr. VT Vasagan and Wapangsenla Imchen, both of Department of Management Studies, IUN and Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) trained professional. 


During the workshop, 18 business plans were prepared and presented by the participants, with the hope to convert their ideas into marketable products in future. The participants were also given a hands-on training at a production unit after the workshop.
