Dimapur, November 2 (MExN): The Department of Philosophy, ICFAI University Nagaland, held a talk on the topic Aesthetics in Fashion on October 31 at the IUN auditorium, with Bambi Kevichusa as the resource person.
The programme was chaired by Temsuinla Imchen. Bambi Kevichusa spoke on how the concept of beauty is perceived differently in various cultures. She highlighted the changing perception of beauty over the years and the subjectivity of beauty. While beauty is perceived to be subjective, she highlighted that there are certain foundations like lines, forms, texture, balance, etc on which our concept of beauty especially in fashion has been built. She also spoke of how imperfections are now considered as beautiful. The importance of balance in nature and how it exists in the universe was highlighted by her.
Rovikotuo Yhoshu, HoD of the department acknowledged the speaker and highlighted the purpose of the lecture series on aesthetics. He spoke of the need to not only consider the subject on an abstract level but also its practical implications. This was the 4th talk in the lecture series.
